Patrick St. Germain's expressive "Reykjavik" pays homage to the lava caves in Iceland. St. Germain builds his canvas with textural layers of sand, paint, papier-mâché and black gesso, creating a dynamic darkness. "I love the color contrasts the lava gives when it cools down—from deep tar to brilliant red," the artist explains. CB2 exclusive.
