Patrick St. Germain's expressive "Reykjavik" pays homage to the lava caves in Iceland. St. Germain builds his canvas with textural layers of sand, paint, papier-mâché and black gesso, creating a dynamic darkness. Patrick St. Germain is a Montreal-based artist who works mostly with acrylic paint, resin, metallics and pastels. He describes his style of art as primarily abstract, textural and complex. "I love to explore the grandeur of nature by weaving abstraction and landscape into my own personal visual language."
